Tis the time of the season for eggnog, caroling, and… ugly Christmas sweaters! This year Greater Vancouver is hosting the Ugly Christmas Sweater 5K fun run ! The run is being held this Saturday, November 23rd at Town Centre Park in Coquitlam and spots are still available.
Worth the trek into the suburbs, the Ugly Christmas Sweater 5K is guaranteed to provide you with an afternoon full of hot chocolate, fake snow, mustaches, and the ugliest sweaters you could ever lay your eyes on.
The run is approximately 5 Kilometers long and will have huge inflatables, photo stations, and awesome holiday music blasting throughout the course. There will also be holiday themed stations at every mile and a good ol’ fashioned hot chocolate booth to help you replenish all those electrolytes you’ll be burning.
And after you’ve spent some time sweating into your polyester-wool blended monstrosity, the post-run festivities will reward you with holiday goodies, more hot chocolate and beer. What’s a 5K without a little bit of beer at the end!? Awards for best real mustache, best fake mustache, best beard, worst sweater, and best sweater will follow the race.

Registration for the run costs $44 online and $50 on the day of (or, if you’re on a 4+ person team it costs $39 each) with partial proceeds going to the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada – BC & Yukon Chapter.
Could it get any better? Actually, yes! Each participant will also get a custom vintage knit hat, unlimited hot chocolate, beer, and a moustache – yes, a moustache. If you can’t grow one, they’ll just give you one!

The Ugly Sweater 5KM Run takes place on November 23rd at 2:00pm at Town Centre Park, 1299 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam, British Columbia.
