One sentence sum-up of the wedding vibe: Low-key, wedding adventure, with friends, family, and good food and drink.

Other Cool Stuff We Should Know About

Prior to our San Francisco nuptials, Eric and I had tried—and failed—to plan several other, more traditional, versions of our wedding. After our final failed attempt at throwing a big wedding, we tossed it all out the window and decided to do a cross-country road trip adventure instead—aka our wed-venture!

We took almost a month off from our jobs to road trip eight thousand miles across the lower forty eight states. Starting on the East Coast, we took the southwestern route out to San Francisco (where we were married), and then honeymooned by traveling through the Pacific Northwest, before returning home. It truly was epic.

We were married on a Monday in an intimate City Hall ceremony, surrounded by immediate family and close friends. After which we lunched at Wayfare Tavern, and belted out karaoke in San Francisco’s Japantown.

Even though, Eric and I had decided on a small, destination wedding, it meant so much to us that any of our friends and family could make it (since the vast majority are East Coasters). One of the happiest surprises for us was that everyone who came made their own little adventure out of the trip, spending at least five days or more traveling around the West Coast.
