BRIDES New York: Artful Wedding Planners Based in New York City

Recently I was given an amazing opportunity to write for BRIDES Magazine on a number of chic and trending wedding topics.  Today’s post looks at some of my favorite, {amazingly} talented wedding planners and designers right here in NYC!  Take a peek!

Finding the right wedding planner or designer can make all the difference in the world. If you love an artfully designed celebration (think detailed touches, farm-to-table chic and loose, vine-inspired florals), these NYC wedding planning experts are the best of the best in the city. Take a peek!

AaB Creates
The self-proclaimed “mistresses of barefoot chic”, co-founders Xochitl Gonzalez and Mayra Castillo help creative types and trendsetters host perfectly-imperfect indie weddings that reflects their cool-kid personalities to the most cerebral level (think: macrame curtains and crystals at the wedding of a meditation coach). With design-driven events inspired by their clients’ favorite hotels, restaurants, art and travel destinations, its no wonder GQ recently said AaB Creates designs “the hippest weddings they’ve ever seen.”

Loli Events
According to owner Lauren Sozmen, the ideal Loli bride shares her love all things that are fun, super beautiful, thoughtful and effortless. Whether she is working with a charm-laden raw space, or a family estate, the common thread between Loli weddings is that every last detail strikes a balance between approachability and luxury. Sozmen loves to weave high-quality design elements into experiences that feel comforting and reflect a shining sense of hospitality (something she picked up while planning events for the likes of restaurateur Daniel Boulud). She also plans destination weddings in Paris. Read real brides’ reviews here!

Rye Workshop (formerly Glitter + Rye)
Formerly Glitter + Rye, owner Molly Hartman designs events with a refined bohemian vibe. Her standout installation moments playfully mix vintage props with modern touches, drawing brides who crave an eclectic, artful look on their big day. Sparkly signs, poppy florals and found elements are the focus of her tablescapes and escort card creations, resulting in event design that is both colorful and collected.

Rock Paper Scissor Events
Ara Farham and team provide a “high touch, low stress” approach to event deign, and act similarly to an interior designer for your big day. They view your (very random!) Pinterest boards, develop a cohesive aesthetic, then curate the best artisans (or make items in house), to execute your bridal vision all within budget. RPS Events prides itself on last-minute planning needs, and also has a So-Cal satellite office — perfect for the NYC bride planning a California destination wedding. Read real brides’ reviews here!

Firefly Events
Bohemian, hand crafted design? Check. Simple, modern décor? Check. With Firefly Events, a bicoastal planning and design firm, avant-garde couples can have both. Founders Teissia and Alia believe each wedding should be an artful mash-up of the bride and groom’s personal style, and pride themselves on finding a place where elegance and creativity meet for each couple. Their romantic aesthetic is paired with meticulous planning skills and a down-to-earth vibe that makes clients feel like they hired their (very talented) best friend to plan their dream day.

Matthew Robbins Design
The floral and event designer for the bride who loves romance, ranunculus blooms and stunningly sweet details, Matthew is as softly charming as his beautiful designs. He believes we surround ourselves with loved items, and in his design process, deciphers how to turn your personal treasures into event inspiration. His ground floor studio houses a beautiful array of vintage props that help carry his heartfelt aesthetic to perfectly aligned venues like Blue Hill Stone Barns , where Matthew will effortlessly match handpicked china, chairs and table numbers to the rustic-chic environment.
