One of the cooler developments this year was the news that techno mainstay Richie Hawtin was collaborating with Allen & Heath on a mysterious new technology that has since been revealed as the PLAYdifferently mixer, with the MODEL 1 unit hitting the market at the end of August and described as an “innovative instrument for the professional DJ.”
While Hawtin has been taking his new mixer on the road this year, those interested in potentially “playing differently” themselves can have a look under the hood with two new tutorials filmed by Hawtin himself, who talks us through and performs on the new mixer.
Hawtin describes the new mixer as “akin to an instrument with intuitive controls, uncompromising quality, features and flexible connectivity that can unlock a new wave of creativity.”
