Happiest of Holidays!

As you may have noticed, we signed off last Wednesday with our last feature of 2014. For the coming week we will be on break as we continue celebrating with family & friends! But with the coming of 2015 also comes a season of reflection, so we thought we should take a moment to say “thank you!” Our hearts are overflowing with the blessings that came our way in 2014.  Especially the ones from our dear Bayside readers and vendors — yes, you. You who helped build this little blogging family!

Happiest of Holidays! Krista A. Jones

Thank you to the readers in Maryland and beyond for your comments, questions and advice. Our Facebook posts and daily blogging wouldn’t be the same without you! Thank you to the vendors who send in beautiful work, the vendors who share tips and advice for local brides and all 100+ vendors listed in our vendor guide . This Chesapeake region of ours just wouldn’t be the same without your talent and big dreams! We are continually inspired by you & look forward to cultivating more creative relationships in the new year!

2015 will be magnificent, we just know it! As always, we would love to hear from you! If you have an article you’d like to see on the site, if you’d like to share something that worked really well for your wedding or if you just want to give us a shout and tell us you think we’re awesome (yes, we love affirmation!), we’d love for you to send an email to info@wordpress.com. Intimate Church Circle Wed | Jessica Schmitt

On this precious eve of Christmas we thought that sharing聽an聽intimate holiday聽hometown wedding would be the聽way to celebrate properly. Amanda and Eric spoke their vows in the Annapolis courthouse, surrounded by a close group of family members and friends. Captured by Jessica Schmitt Photography , this couple spent an unseasonably warm day taking portraits downtown before heading to Reynolds Tavern for a special dinner reception!

And with a proposal story like this, we just had to share! “While I was working in Africa this summer, we decided to meet in Tanzania and climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. It was an amazing experience. Eric carried the ring to the summit, but with the dizzying feeling at almost 20,000 feet, and with crowds of people, he decided to wait for a more private moment. After spending three days in Arusha scuba diving, as the sun began to set we headed back to the room to relax. Eric had champagne waiting and rose petals in the shape of a heart on the bed and he popped the question. We celebrated sipping our champagne and watching the sunset in the beautiful Matemwe Beach area of Zanzibar. In similar fashion, we wanted something small and intimate for the wedding, and Annapolis could not have worked out more perfectly.”

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

It’s finally here… the end of 2014 and I hope that it was as good to you as it was to me. Packed full of amazing experiences, new friends, huge projects and so much more – I will always look back fondly on this special year. As happy as I am to take a holiday break from blogging, I am just as excited to get back to it in a few weeks and share all the big things we are working on. If you haven’t filled out our Reader Survey , please take a moment to do so – it will help make ST what you want it to be. I’m so grateful to each and every one of our readers and I want to make sure that what I’m sharing here is what you, the DIY bride is looking for so tell me what that is! Like I said I’m taking a short break to relax, hang with family and rev myself up for a brand new year… so I will happily see you all back here on Monday, January 5th!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Sending holiday cards has always been special to me because my Mom always made it such a big deal. She used to take the time to beautifully hand calligraphy every single address and pack each card full of holiday glitter. When the “Causey Card” showed up in your mail box you knew you had to open it over the trash can and although it was a mess, it still made you smile. The holidays are the perfect time to share and show how much everyone means to you and I have so many people to be thankful for. So this year I teamed up with Smitten on Paper to design both my personal and blog Christmas cards; I’m obsessed to say the least. I met the gals from Smitten about 2 years ago at the Los Angeles Big Fake Wedding and we have stayed in touch ever since. They specialize in amazing custom wedding stationary of all kinds and have some of the cutest holiday cards I’ve ever seen. I had a blast working with them, explaining my ideas and seeing them come to life was so much fun. And as much as I desperately wanted to make small gifts for everyone on my list, I knew I wouldn’t have the time due to all my travels so I went to Etsy and found The Groovy Baker who created these killer turquoise, Champagne + Vanilla flavored gourmet lollipops just for me – they almost look too pretty to eat right?! I hope that all who received my little holiday gifts felt the love that I wrapped up into them. I wish you all a wonderful holiday and an amazing new year! Xoxo, Jen

Gilded Coral Wedding | Stephen Gosling

As it should be, the star of this show is bride, Jordan and her out of this world BHLDN Cypress gown — though of course Simon in his coral bow tie and black suit looks quite dapper as well! Captured by Stephen Gosling , this waterfront ceremony has hints of coral in color and in style (the tropical styling of the venue, and even the vines on Jordan’s gown look a bit like the marine creature!

Love in a Christmas Tree Farm

“I wanted this shoot to show how you can incorporate two different styles or “feels” and yet have an overall harmonious look. I pulled together rustic elements and glamorous details to show off this adorable couple. Mason and Courtney fit my theme with their looks alone. Mason with his red hair and scruff and Courtney with her natural beauty and amazing features. The breathtaking dress and florals could not have contrasted in a more perfect way from the fur shawl to the pine trees and dirt. Feast your eyes on these beauties!”- Kelsie Millet of Kelsie Emm Photography
