“Allie is such a sweetheart and Jeff is a true gentleman. Together they make the perfect couple. I just loved the style and vibe of their big day. Their wedding mixed rustic romance with country chic touches. Allie loves horses and to have horses at the venue to incorporate into photos was such a special treat! I am so happy to share this wedding with you all.” – Caitlin O’Reilly Photography
What is your favorite wedding day memory?
It’s so hard to narrow down all of the incredible memories to just one favorite! From the “first look” I had with my father to the moment I saw my future husband as I walked down the aisle, every second of the ceremony was absolutely perfect. One memory I know I’ll never forget was when our guests made a circle around me and Jeff with sparklers, and we danced to the Katy Perry song, ‘Firework.’ It was so special to be surrounded by all our friends and family as the sparklers lit up the starry summer sky.
What did you DIY for your wedding?
We went the DIY route for several wedding projects, including our framed remembrance candle description, direction sign and seating chart, drink stir sticks with flags, and ‘Time Capsule’ guest book, just to name a few. The DIY crafts can get a little stressful as the big day draws near, but I’m so grateful for all the help I received from my mom and wedding planner in giving the wedding decor an extra-special, personal touch.
Something old, new, borrowed and blue?
Just about everything I was wearing was my ‘new,’ and there was blue everywhere, since it was part of my wedding palette, but my official ‘blue’ piece had to be the mint-colored soles of the gorgeous Betsy Johnson shoes I wore down the aisle. My Uncle was so kind to lend his beautifully restored, 1930’s Ford pick-up for our wedding, which added a vintage vibe, and not only served as the gift/card area, but also became my ‘old’ and ‘borrowed’ for the day.
Any advice for brides currently in the planning process?
Planning a wedding can get extremely overwhelming, so it’s important to surround yourself with a good team of helpers, whether it’s family, friends or professional planners, and take everything one day at a time. I was shocked at how expensive weddings can be, but I learned not to skimp-out on the important things, like catering, music and photography. It’s important to keep your guests in mind during the planning process so that everyone attending finds your wedding as fun and memorable as you do! – Allison, the bride
