Road cyclists and even mountain bikers use multiple sensors to measure, track, and analyze every single movement they make during a ride. By contrast, BMX and and even DH riders have been a bit short changed in the sensor department. That is, until now. Iddo is world’s first sensor for both BMX Race and BMX Freestyle riders.
Made out of high grade aluminum and CNC machined for strength and to keep weight at only 50 grams, the Iddo BMX sensor links with a smartphone app through Bluetooth, helping you track your performance, share your achievements, and challenge your friend for a friendly competition. The sensor includes a built-in GPS, precision altimeter, 9-axis trick sensor, ambient light sensor, temperature and humidity sensor, and a battery life of up to 10 hours.
The BMX Race version tracks your laps, including speed, time, trick time (air-time and manual-time), weather conditions (temperature, humidity, and ambient light), max speed, max height in air, and location. In Ghost Challenge mode, you can accept a challenge from a friend and try to beat that mark. With Challenge Yourself, you can pick a previous lap you did and try to beat it, analyzing your results on a graph in order to figure out where you could use some improvement.
The Iddo BMX Freestyle version turns your street and park into a game, allowing you to score points based on the tricks you do, keep a history of your tricks, determine the accuracy of each trick, see how high you jumped, know how long you kept your manual, and the distance you made it.
Currently supported tricks include: table, invert, manual, nose-manual, bunny-hop, front flip, back flip, tail whip, 180, 360 and up to 1080. More tricks will be added in future releases.
Iddo is running an Indiegogo campaign to take pre-orders on the BMX sensor . For 159 euros, you can be one of the first to try the BMX bike sensor. Delivery is expected in September.
