This Ain’t Bristol is fast becoming one of the most dependable imprints in dance music. The content coming from the Germany-based imprint is second to none, as it continues to shovel out releases from broken ground in the good-vibed corners of house and tech. Where most labels collect their success from mining trends, TAB has repeatedly found its ever-growing renown from setting them.
The next target on their hit list is Kyle Watson, the South African producer who has been wrecking the dancefloor like a one-man demolition crew. He’s swinging back around for round two, after absolutely crushing it with his Watermelons / Fly With Me EP from last year. He brings the same wobbly edge on his second appearance, Rhinoceros, a from-the-wild two-tracker that’s sure to rattle a few cages. Living on the flip is “The Cone,” which sees Watson getting phenomenally wavy with oscillating basslines that slink and slide beneath silky-smooth arpeggs and a seemingly satisfied-to-the-core vocal sample. It’s going to own the festival circuit like no other.
Available July 22 via This Ain’t Bristol.
