Since newlyweds Kari and Seth are both originally from rural Texas, they incorporated the sweetest rustic flair in their tropical Hawaiian wedding! The couple chose聽 Dillingham Ranch 聽for its perfect blend of Southern charm and Oahu island details. Kari wore a dazzling open-back聽 Grace Loves Lace gown that was just as sophisticated as it was effortlessly chic. I think most important for us was that our guests have a great time and for the wedding to be beautiful and reflective of our personalities.
When we first started looking at venues, I had decided that I really wanted to get married on a ranch. We both grew up in rural Texas and since we were not getting married in Texas, we wanted our wedding to feel like home, but still look like Hawaii. Dillingham Ranch was beautiful with mountains and palm trees and a gorgeous main house and front lawn. I just fell in love with it.
One of the things we knew we absolutely wanted was a ceremony that was personal and meaningful to us. We asked my brother to marry us and it couldn’t have been more special.
I think the best decision I made regarding our wedding was to hire a wedding planner. When you have a wedding planner that you can trust and that has been working in the industry for a while, it makes things so much simpler. Our planner was very organized and so helpful when I otherwise wouldn’t have even known where to begin with the process.
Being that we are both not from Hawaii and had friends and family coming in for the wedding from the mainland, we wanted our wedding to feel laid-back and have an islandy vibe to combine our personalities with what we love about Hawaii.
For me, the most memorable moment was our first dance together. It was just that moment of the wedding where I felt like everyone was really enjoying themselves – it was such a fun time and when I felt like the night couldn’t be more perfect, it somehow just kept getting better.
