Memorial Day Weekend rocks for a few reasons. First and foremost, it is a time to give thanks to all the men and women who have fallen in the name of our country. What better way to do that than spending time with loved ones outdoors. Over the years Memorial Day has grown into a long weekend allowing for extra time to enjoy the freedoms our soldiers have protected for generations.
This weekend you can find us hammocking with friends and family at two different festivals!. We hope to see you out there. Did someone say fireworks?!

From their Facebook:
“The first Summer Camp Music Festival was held in 2001 at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, IL. About 1,000 attended the festival that year, and enjoyed over 20 bands on 2 stages over the course of 2 days. Since then, Summer Camp Music Festival has grown to more than 15,000 attendees, hosting more than 100 bands on 7 stages over 3 days. And while our numbers have grown, Summer Camp still maintains the same energy and family feel we had when we started over a decade ago. As one fan put it, “Coming to Summer Camp is like coming home.” You’ll run into old friends, meet a ton of great new ones, and have the time of your life.
Almost tripling the population of Chillicothe for the weekend, Summer Camp creates a city within a city, and greatly impacts the local business economy.

From the website:
“ DelFest was born from the desire to create a family-friendly music festival celebrating the rich legacy of McCoury music by providing a forum for world-class musical collaborations while also exposing fresh new talent.”
We’re huge fans of DelFest and love the Cumberland venue! Between the children learning instruments in the academy to the stars on stage to the festival goers strumming in the campsite, Delfest is truly about the music. The Del McCoury Band never disappoints and makes frequent visits on stage with the other headliners each night. A family festival not to be missed, the small town spirit of this gathering doesn’t fade even as its attendance continues to grow!
Get your dancing shoes on. Del yeah!
