Does luxury need to be measured by the thread-count of cotton sheets, the state-of-the-art showerhead or the ever present flat-screen? Right now, if I lift my head up from typing, I can see panoramic views of a protected estuary and white-faced Herons swooping across it’s entire length. What a magnificent sight and we’re the only ones here…
….just a stone’s throw away from the biking trail and magnificent beach at Rabbit Island
And there’s no better way to start the day than being greeted by our new best friend, Jess. Jess and her daughter Bonny are mind-readers. Just when we think about preparing brekkie or lunch, they appear…nothing short of miraculous!
I have finally sighted the baby quails and it’s protective mother. Looked out the window last evening to see a bunny burrowing it’s head into a bush and leaving it’s bum exposed, confident that it could not been seen by anyone. Ha, someone could!
The light changes around here and in the early evening when the sun begins it’s descent, the air becomes hazy and birds gather the last of the day’s ‘pickings’. (We’re so grateful that the owners of Manuka Island have re-established the birdlife of the area by providing nesting areas, including areas of natural uncut grassland.)
The working day has not ended for us though. Michael is again on his laptop emailing our clients, attending to our all-important bookings and implementing the finer details into his beautiful itineraries. He’ll be working well into the night, so it sure helps to have a beautiful outside office.
Happy Travelling!
