Loft apartment renovated by Spanish architects Sinaldaba

The Spanish architecture Studio “ Sinaldaba ” was asked to renovate a top floor in a late nineteenth century building, located one of the central streets of A Coruña. The apartment was in very bad condition and the budget was very modest, but the client gave the architects total freedom.

The house has the classic spatial configuration of a Gothic story plot: it is elongated and narrow, but the architects proposed to completely empty the floor, keeping only the main stairwell. The result is a single space, open, broad, bounded by a strip that houses furniture, kitchen, toilet, cabinet and a study.
