Colorado company Lilypond creates a collection of women's bags, luggage and accessories with great color combinations and style. Over the past few weeks, I have been using the Evening Star Backpack for traveling as well as bike commuting back and forth to the climbing gym. I found that Lilypond bags are not only stylish, but extremely functional as well.
The Evening Star Backpack comes with two zippered compartments. The main compartment will accommodate a 15" laptop in the dedicated sleeve and still leave room for loads of gear. The front compartment is pretty roomy as well and contains organizer pockets for your cell phone, iPod, wallet, or other accessories.
One of my favorite compartments is the fleece lined zippered pocket at the top of the pack. You can store your sunglasses or other valuables there while you aren't using them and know they won't get damaged. Plenty of daisy chain webbing and gear loops enable you to attach a helmet, yoga mat, carabiners, blinky light for bike commuting, or almost any kind of gear you want.
The Evening Star Backpack is made from a combination of lightweight and ballistic waterproof nylon. In case you get caught out in a downpour, all you have to do is unzip the bottom flap and pull out the integrated rain cover to protect your gear.
The back of the pack features a hydration sleeve that will hold up to a 100 oz reservoir. The hydration tube can be fed through an opening on either your right or left front backpack strap. I like that the hydration sleeve is separate from the main compartment just in case your reservoir decides to leak.
Bottom Line: The Lilypond Evening Star Backpack is extremely comfortable, stylish and functional. This versatile pack will be perfect for day hiking, bike commuting or even as your carry-on when you travel.
The Lilypond Evening Star Backpack retails for $119, comes in blue or green, and can be bought from the company website.
