I’m super excited that this day has finally arrived… the day I get to announce our very first “bridal blogger”! A few weeks ago I shared the gorgeous engagement session of Joseph + Shea from the talented Shots by Cheyenne and once I heard what the bride was planning for her wedding, I was intrigued. An amazing mix of classic and boho-chic, with a whimsy of twinkle-lit romance and a handful of our DIY tutorials – sounds fabulous right? So after a few Instagram messages and emails it was clear we were meant to be besties and I asked Shea what she thought about sharing her unique wedding planning journey here, on ST. I’m not going to tell you that she screamed yes, but it was close. I’m truly honored that she will be sharing her story here with us, as it’s going to be an amazing one. Just wait until you see her dress… I’m beyond obsessed and I totally begged her to share it here, but she’s a purist and doesn’t want her fiancé to see it, totally understandable, so you’ll just have to wait. Her creative ideas and lovely venue are so awesome that I’m totally temped to fly cross country and crash her party (which is what she refers to it as)! Until then, we will look forward to her thoughts and inspirations behind planning her ideal wedding day…

Hi Bridal Babes! My name is Shea and I am so excited to be sharing my wedding planning, styling and overall excitement with you! With a little under 5 months {but who’s counting!} to go, we are in full-on wedding planning mode.
When we first got engaged, we instantly began planning the overall feel we wanted our wedding to have. I found it much easier to plan around a look and feel rather than wedding colors or bridal party size. We knew we wanted a fall wedding and October is one of those not too cold, not too hot kind of months where being outside seems lovely. We also knew we wanted it to feel like an airy, twinkle light lit cocktail party. {A cocktail party where we happened to get married and I wore a beautiful dress!}
Building around this look and feel, we also knew we didn’t want to go too traditional with the venue and wanted to think outside the box. We chose, and a gracious family friend accepted, us to call their beautiful lake front home our venue, a perfect cocktail party-esque setting. Making and keeping our wedding us, was another important consideration. While planning can be decision after decision of beautiful details, making sure to keep your wedding true to you as a couple is vital for making not only a memorable day, but a reflection of you both. With that mindset, our pup Knox will be roaming the wedding {in a bow tie, of course}, we chose not to have a wedding party as we wanted to keep the ceremony more intimate, and are having a friend who’s known us for many years officiate the ceremony, as well as including details of us throughout the wedding.
With some of our larger items checked off the list, styling became the next item to tackle, as so much of your wedding checklist ties in with your overall wedding style. From the venue, your bride and groom attire, decor, DIY’s — the list goes on. To remain sane and organized, Pinterest boards were the perfect/easiest way for me to, not only figure out things I wanted to DIY, but also to be able to see and create the style and feel we wanted for the wedding. Check out some of my wedding style board below.

As you can see from my style board, I’m really loving all things twinkle lit, eucalyptus covered, chalkboard written and blush. As well as, things with a touch of boho-style throughout.
Thanks babes and I’ll see you back in three weeks sharing my new love for all things eucalyptus!
