Two of our favorite places in The World’s Cheapest Destinations are now going to be connected by a direct air link. According to this story, Lao Aviation flights will soon connect Hanoi, Vietnam, and Luang Prabang, Laos–twice a week for now.
Getting there is half the fun if you are a long-term traveler or a European with 6 or 8 weeks of vacation. For people on a shorter jaunt, however, a direct flight can mean the difference in going to a place or not. While we’d hate to see mellow Luang Prabang become a big package tour destination, you can’t hold a place back forever.
