DIY Wedding | Joel + Britnee

“Britnee and Joel got married at The Humphrey’s Estate in Temecula, CA. Their wedding was absolutely perfect in every single way. Britnee is the type of girl that lights up a room and makes you happy just because she is happy. Her smile is contagious and if we could only describe her wedding using one word it would be… JOY. Our favorite thing about her day was that she DIY-ed most of the wedding details herself. From the table numbers to menu cards, she did such an incredible job! After the ceremony, the reception was held around the pool of the estate’s property. All of the guests had so much fun dancing the night away (don’t worry, no one fell in the pool!) and when it was over they ended the night with a sparkler grand exit!” – Leah Marie Photography

What is your favorite wedding day memory?

My very favorite moment was walking down the stairs from my bridal suite to have a moment with my blind folded hubby-to-be before walking down the aisle. He was waiting under huge shady trees that were blowing in the wind, and I could hear the musicians warming up. It was so calming and just what I needed after the hustle and bustle of the busy day without my groom.

What did you DIY for your wedding?

I DIY-ed just about everything possible! I wanted a romantic, but glitzy feel for our summer wedding. I included a touch of glitter where I could. I made mixed table numbers – glittered paper mâché numbers with stained wood bases and wood plaques with printed burlap numbers. I wanted each table to be unique and have a different feel. I also made the programs, menu, tag seating chart (with glitter fork and spoons!), matches for favors, as well as drink koozies. You can tell I had just a little fun planning our big day!

Something old, new, borrowed and blue?

I had an old/borrowed bracelet, blue panties (shhhh!), and a BRAND spanking new dress! :)

Any advice for brides currently in the planning process?

My advice to brides currently planning would be to enjoy every second, even the stressful ones, involve your fiancé, and go to as many tastings as you can! – Britnee, the bride
