We are swooning today at the elegant and glamour of Beth and Steve’s ballroom wedding style at Chateau de Santeny. When it came time to pick a location for their wedding, France was an easy choice of destination – the groom has French family and he used to spend his summers in a town near Paris. As it would happen, this town has a beautiful château and so it was almost by destiny that the bride and groom picked the lovely Château de Santeny for their wedding celebration.
The wedding was planned by the team at Fête in France who take us through the big day: “The bride and her sister ventured to the château early in the afternoon to begin their hair and makeup preparations. The ladies were primped and pampered by the talented team of stylists and the look really came together when the bride put on her gorgeous blush-colored wedding dress – a bustier and tulle skirt with matching bejeweled belt.
The couple chose to have a close friend perform the ceremony and he did a fantastic job, moving the guest to tears with his touching text.
Following the ceremony guests enjoyed an elegant cocktail hour with flowing champagne, canapés and a live jazz band which played a selection of French “gypsy” jazz classics. Specialty rentals of antique furniture perfectly fit with the château décor as did the beautiful floral arrangements with roses, lisanthus, lilies, anenomes, and hydrangea all in white.
After the cocktail hour guests were welcomed into the dining room where they found tables covered in shimmery silver linens and décor of tall centerpieces with dramatic branches mixed in with lower crystal pave centerpieces. The gourmet meal began with a fresh pea and asparagus starter and was followed by a delicous fish served with parsnip purée and fava beans.
To cap off dinner guests were treated to a delicious buffet of French pastries and cakes – one of the most important things on the groom’s wish list! In addition to an impressive spread of desserts, guests were surprised with a spectacular “pièce montée” with sparklers and a perfectly executed champagne tower poured by the bride and groom.
The surprises did not end there! Guests were invited onto the terrace of the château and there began a fireworks display set to the couple’s favorite songs. After the excitement of the fireworks the bride, groom and their guests danced the night away to fun party music.”
