UK cult cinema classic Trainspotting holds a special place in the heart of many a clubber. It features some particularly evocative depictions of ‘90s dance culture and is credited as one of the early sources of rave breaking through into the US. Naturally, excitement is high at the prospect of a sequel, finally more than 20 years later, and its first teaser trailer is here.
Director Danny Boyle has united the original cast for the sequel, which includes Ewan McGregor, as well as Ewan Bremner, Johnny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle.
The sequel is based on author Irvine Welsh’s novel Porno, a Trainspotting follow-up that zooms in on characters Renton, Sick Boy, Spud and Begbie when their paths cross again a decade later. The script for T2: Trainspotting 2 was written by John Hodge, who penned the original Trainspotting adaptation.
