For riding your bike, Icebreaker is on a mission to get you out of synthetics and into merino wool. Using GT150, Icebreaker's lightest weight fabric, the Spring/Summer 2012 GT Bike collection will help you perform better in the summer heat, both on and off the road.
Icebreaker's current GT Bike collection uses GT200 merino wool fabric, meaning the new collection will drop 50 g/m2 off the weight of your cycling jersey. The merino wool fabric incorporates 3% lycra for better fit and faster drying time. The bike shorts are made from 85% merino wool with a high quality Italian chamois.
In addition to being lighter weight, the cycling jerseys are softer, resist odor and help to keep you both cool and dry. Special features include gripper elastic hems, reflective details, and a classic three pocket construction.
The women's SS12 GT Bike collection includes a sleeveless cycling jersey called the Rhythm and the short sleeve SS Viva Jersey. Both jerseys are decorated with nature inspired prints, a current trend in women's cycling jerseys and one that I am not so sure about. I will have to see them in person at Friedrichshafen next month to judge one way or another.
The men's SS12 GT Bike collection includes three new cycling jerseys, the SS Team Jersey, SS Cadence Jersey and SS Circuit Jersey. Bold color contrasts will be used throughout the men's range to add a little pick me up to your ride.
Stay tuned for pictures of the Icebreaker SS12 GT Bike collection from the OutDoor Show next month.
