Discovery Music: Alumni Tracks You Should Know Vol. 39

We put together some of our favorite tunes from Discovery Project alumni for you. We do this regularly, so keep checking into the Alumni Tracks You Should Know series to see the latest and greatest from our Discovery artists.

Stonebridge “If You Like It” (Evil Twin Remix)

Evil Twin has had an incredible year, with an official remix for Morgan Page and support spins from some of the biggest players all across the board. He’s quickly becoming one of the most accomplished producers from the Discovery Project family. His remix for Stonebridge’s “If You Like It” funks things up nicely with a simply massive bass/synth hook. It would been a huge misfire to not feature the soulful vocal of Elsa Li Jones on this remix, as it makes the perfect centerpiece for a remix so clearly thought out.

BIGGS & First Gift “Kikido”

Earlier this year, BIGGS and First Gift dropped their huge collaboration, “ Cardio Anthem ,” via the Discovery Project Releases series. The Texan boys are back with more tribal-infused insanity with “Kikido.” Keeping things minimal, the duo proves all you need is a drum kit, a few well-placed vocals, and the sounds of an alien robot super species to get the party started.

Ookay “Thief” (DIV/IDE Remix)

I think we can all agree the world needs more saxophone. DIV/IDE , formerly known as Baewatch , has done a great job at preserving the best parts of Ookay ’s “Thief,” the vocal and the saxophone. Add in a solid house kick and a garage bassline to really up the feel-good vibes of the tune. In the final section of the track, the boys take things down a notch for a halftime lead-out that lets that bassline cut through beautifully.

Agent Orange “Break Me Down”

Agent Orange has stepped into the big leagues with a release on the legendary Toolroom Records. He is clearly channeling his old-school techno roots in a way that’s totally fresh and undeniably funky. With a sexy vocal hook and a throbbing bottom-end, this tune begs to be played at high volume.

Hotfire & Grensta “Watchu Want”

Hotfire and Grensta have been shutting things down in their home state of California as of late with releases on Night Bass, Perfect Driver and Nite Records. Their latest collaboration, “Watchu Want,” pushes the weird and wonderful West Coast sound as it bounces along with a grimy bassline and a slithering G-funk synth. This is the kind of booty-shaking underground music leaking its way onto the mainstage by way of folks like Claude VonStroke , and it’s only a matter of time before Hotfire and Grensta join the ranks of the West Coast house elite.

Christofi ft. Malia “Higher”

Christofi is the newest member of the Discovery Project family, making his debut at EDC Las Vegas 2016 . The up-and-coming producer has already established a well-refined sound all his own. The disco is strong in this one, making it nearly impossible to listen to this tune without a huge smile on your face. Christofi clearly has the musical chops where it counts, crafting something gorgeous and uplifting that allows Malia’s vocal to shine.
