Everyone knows how important it is to get the lay of the land when arriving at a festival. At EDC Orlando, there are three vastly different worlds to explore, each with its own distinct vibe and appeal. Few things are more invigorating than posting up front-of-house at kineticFIELD and letting the scenic stage do its job. What really pushes the energy over the top is the impeccable programming pulling in sets from some of the most sought-after names in dance music.
Above & Beyond will create a connection with the crowd in a way only the trio has figured out how to do. Burning through their hair-twirling, bubble-gum-blowing bangers are the Chainsmokers. Axwell taps into his repertoire of Swedish-brewed anthems, while Hardwell punishes the place with the weight of his massive hits. Dusting off the decks for a trusty DJ set is Porter Robinson, coloring Headliners with his animated output. Dash Berlin turns the attention to his hands-up-high output, where W&W will likely follow suit.
On the future-house front, there’s plenty to choose from, including pumped-up performances by Jauz, Ephwurd and Chocolate Puma. Yellow Claw comes through to tip the turnt scales by dropping those heavy heaters. Flipping through the finest festival flavors is Morgan Page. Then there’s Borgeous, a guessing game of genres that always goes off. Bixel Boys slip into the grey area they refer to as big-room underground. Throttle puts the disco-plated pedal to the metal, and CID slips into the picture with his shimmery house tunes.
