Here at Cwtch The Bride we are all about inspiration and advise. Today we have a few points to think about when it comes to caring for your wedding headpiece. I hope they can be of use to you to make sure that your tiara keep looking pretty and sparkly.

We are all so excited when it comes to collecting our bridal headpiece and having our hair trial. The one thing that not everyone realises is that you do need to make sure that you look after it. When you walk down the aisle your tiara needs to look as good as the day you tried it on in the shop. After your wedding, you want to make sure that it stays looking lovely and pristine. I know that a lot of girls offer their headpiece to friends as their something borrowed. Perhaps they want to keep it as a family heirloom, show your children and reminisce about your big day. Sharing memories and telling stories and perhaps even having them wear it on their wedding day. Here are some top tips for making sure you can enjoy it for years to come.
HANDLING
Handle with care by the base, not the delicate wired stems. These can bend and even snap off. That’s the last thing you would want before the big day! 
WEARING
Don’t let hairspray spoil the clarity of crystals. One suggestion I always say is to try it on at the end of the hair trial. That way you will only need to use spray near it on the wedding day. When spraying try and cover the headpiece to help you avoid the crystals. You can gently mould the band to fit snugly on your head and shape and carefully tease the wire stems. The last thing that you want is an eye watering pinch from your headband all day. 
STORING
Store in a cool, dry place in its original box and wrapped in acid-free tissue. The tissue paper helps to stop it from tarnishing and keeps it looking perfect and sparkly.
