Anonymous Twirling Dancers Arrive to Ease Tensions at the Republican National Convention

This year’s presidential elections are looking to be more divisive than ever, and with CNN reporting there were 18 arrests at protests outside the Republican National Convention (NRC) in Cleveland this week, tensions are sky-high and looking like they’ll stay there. Luckily, some anonymous twirling dancers arrived on the scene to help ease the bipartisan strains.

Brought to our attention by culture blog Creators Project, this week a quartet of silent twirling dancers arrived at the convention to just help calm things down a little. According to another report on the artistic diversions of the NRC in The Atlantic , the nature of the dancing appeared apolitical, with the intention “merely to evoke in the crowds a feeling of whimsy.”

Elsewhere inside the convention building, Republican attendees were otherwise turning heads by breaking out into spontaneous acts of dance , emphasizing the power of the form to heal all wounds.
