When it comes to edgy feminine wedding style, Katey and Alec’s California wedding takes the cake! This very fashionable couple tied the knot at Circle Oak Ranch and incorporated a color palette of glamorous metallics, fresh ivory, and muted taupe. Katey’s show-stopping custom bridal gown featured two fabulous pieces, a dramatic high-low cut, and white floral leather. We love how JC Guzman Photography captured every perfect moment of Katey and Alec’s Circle Oak Ranch wedding, including stunning sunset couple portraits in the desert!

The most important thing to me was staying true to our style. We are simple, yet different and fun. I wanted to make sure that our wedding was “us.” From the invitations, to the center pieces, to the bridesmaids shoes, to the garter toss. I wanted people to be able to look at the wedding photos and know it was ours.
I wore Alex and Ani bracelets that all have a meaningful charm on them.
I did a first look, but with my dad. That was the most memorable moment in my life.
My seamstress was amaaaaazing. We went shopping in the LA Fashion District for all the fabric for my dress and my bridesmaids dresses. I had a two piece dress. My top was made out of white leather. The back of my top had little white buttons up the back (I die) and was made out of the same fabric as my skirt. My skirt was a high-low. We found the most beautiful fabric for my skirt. It was a beautiful floral pattern that was also made out of white leather.
I wanted something that was “me.” And seriously, even my friends would tell you.. This dress was me. I loved every single thing about it. It was stylish, yet beautiful, a tad sexy with class. Ugh I love love loved it so much!! My shoes were white leather as well with gold zippers on the back and laced up the front. I surprised Alec (and everyone else) by dying my hair pink for the wedding. I figured why not?! Everything else was white and I needed a pop of color somewhere! Haha.
Our venue was all outdoors and beautiful! The flow from the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception was perfect. We were married underneath a huge old oak tree. It was so big that all 220 guests fit underneath the tree. It was everything I could have ever imagined, but better.
The other most memorable moment I’d have to say is the immediate feeling of peace when I saw Alec waiting for me at the alter. Once I saw him, all my jitters went away, it was like, “oh, there you are. There’s my home.”
We went with what our style was. I love anything girly but grungy. Classy, with an edge. My bridesmaids outfits were all custom made by our incredible seamstress and the groomsmen’s attire I picked out piece by piece. The vibe was set from there. The girls wore leather skirts and all the groomsmen wore something different. Our vibe was fun, and it was us. Class with a little bit of sass. All of our colors were neutral. Gold, rose gold, taupe, brown, ivory. I wanted our wedding party to be mismatched, we stuck with a neutral color scheme so it didn’t start looking messy.
Our photographer JC took Alec and I on top of a hill at sunset. These are our favorite photos. It was just the two of us. We were able to get away from the noise of the wedding and spend a few minutes looking into each other’s eyes while JC was capturing photos. So not only did we appreciate the sunset portraits, we appreciated those moments we were able to spend with each other.
Well, we spent a year shopping for the center pieces. They were all different. We got everything from antique stores basically. We did tons of different oil lamps and bottles. So we put together each table individually. We hand made the table seating chart with chicken wire and an old picture frame.
If I could give any wedding planning advice it would be to enjoy the process. Things will go wrong, but just remember that at the end of the day, you are going to marry your best friend and that is all that truly matters! Even if your wedding cake is tilted and missing a tier (yes, that happened), you’re still going to get married that day and it is going to be the best day of your life!!

We had little boxes on their dinner plates with butterscotch candies and mints to snack on. For our grand exit, we had light up bubble guns. So all the guests were able to keep them :) we wanted something fun and unique!
