The Big Fake Wedding is back in Los Angeles and I’m thrilled to announce that Something Turquoise will be one of the vendors in attendance! I’ll be bringing some fabulous DIY ideas to the event and available to answer any DIY-wedding questions you might have, so please stop by and say hi! This event has SO many killer vendors, it’s going to be one for the books!
The Big Fake Wedding (formerly known as The NotWedding) is a bridal show alternative in the form of a big, fake wedding – just like the title suggests! The “wedding guests” are brides and grooms who are currently in the planning process, who get to enjoy an emotional vow-renewal ceremony, a tasty cocktail-style dinner, and a dance-party reception all while truly being able to experience local wedding vendors in action. Like watching the photographer shoot, being able to see and touch the flowers, actually taste real food, dance with the DJ and so much more!
Unfortunately, the Los Angeles event is sold out but there are 24 events remaining this calendar year, hopefully one close to you! You can find them and buy tickets here .
Emotional Vow Renewal
The “bride and groom” for The Big Fake Wedding is always a couple that’s already married, who gets to renew their vows in a spectacular way. Treated like royalty, and at no expense to them, they get to partake in what could only be called a dream wedding experience. Their generosity of time allows the vendors work to shine bright!

Cocktail Style Dinner
Since the point of this event is for brides and grooms currently in the planning process, to truly experience the vendors in action – they pull out all the stops! You can expect stunning fashion, over the top decor, outrageous florals, delicious food, delectable desserts and so so much more! Basically Pinterest-overload everywhere you look!

Dance Party Reception
No wedding would be complete without cocktails and a dance party, right? Well, that’s included too! Even thought all the guests don’t really know each other, there is something about the atmosphere and the DJ that gets all these strangers on the dance floor… and I’ll see you there LA!!!

INTRODUCING THE LOS ANGELES 2015 COUPLE:
It’s with great pleasure that I’m able to announce that my brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Travis + Amanda Carreiro are going to be the bride and groom for the Los Angeles event next week! This spunky, fun-loving, vivacious couple met five years ago at a church they now both work at and just happily celebrated their four year wedding anniversary. Watching their relationship flourish has been an honor and I cannot wait to celebrate these two and their amazing passion for each other! They love the camera (as you might be able to tell from this awesome engagement session my husband took of them before their wedding) so I can hardly wait to see the images from this event as they are sure to be stunners!!!
