Alabama Wedding at the Promised Land

Southern Wedding by Cassidy Carson Photography

When it comes to breathtaking, southern weddings, this Alabama affair by Cassidy Carson Photography takes the cake! The floral archway  and rustic white doors could not have been more perfect as an entry way for the ceremony. And don’t miss the look on groom, Bradley’s, face when he sees Emmie for the first time! She literally takes his breath away in her gorgeous lace gown and summer bouquet. The short, pink bridesmaid dresses and casual groom’s wear are relaxed yet fashionable, and best of all, this location, (“The Promised Land” as they call it,) is truly sensational. All in all, what an amazing wedding!

From Emmie:

The inspiration behind my décor:

I had an outdoor wedding on a beautiful farm called The Promised Land. The ceremony was under a gorgeous oak tree, and the reception was held under twinkle lights in an event barn on the land. I chose this as a wedding venue not only because my husband and I love the natural beauty of the outdoors, but also because I knew that the luscious green fields, the rolling mountains of the Appalachian foothills, the natural light, and the huge oak tree would create an incredible atmosphere. The beauty of the venue inspired my décor because I wanted to keep an outdoorsy feel without compromising a charming and elegant wedding, so I followed a rustic elegant theme for the décor.   I wanted the color scheme to be light and natural, so I chose soft pink bridesmaid dresses, light khaki suits, and peach and white floral accents with a touch of green.

How I was feeling the day of:

Joyful and so loved! Thankfully, our wedding director gave us the advice of getting everything set up before the day of the wedding, so my bridesmaids, mother, and I had zero obligations on my wedding day except to fully enjoy the day! We had a blast getting ready and I felt so loved after reading all of the letters that my bridesmaids had written to me and we shared a really sweet time of prayer. The ceremony was so incredibly special, and it was truly the most joyful feeling to enter into the beautiful covenant of marriage. After years of dreaming of my wedding day and months of actually planning it, everything felt very surreal on the day it finally arrived. It honestly felt like a dream!

My favorite parts:

My favorite part of the day was walking towards my groom and seeing the tears of pure joy and look on his face as I walked towards him to become his wife. There is no feeling in the world quite like that moment and I will never forget it! Also, having all the people that mean so much to me gathered together at the reception: my best friends that I have grown up with, friends from college, Bible study leaders, family members old and young, all dancing and laughing until our stomachs hurt, having the absolute time of our lives.
