A casual stroll along the beach near her grandfather's property was an appropriately special location for Rex and Cayla's potraits captured by Maria Glassford . After seven years together, the last two being long-distance, these two are finally tying the knot and can't wait to live their lives together in the same city!
This spot near Seagate Beach in Naples is very close to Cayla's heart. Her grandfather's home is nearby and was host to many birthdays and family occasions from her childhood. Recently, her grandfather passed away and the home is now for sale. Capturing these memories on this very beach means more to Cayla now and is a beautiful homage to her family.
Cayla and Rex met at a pizza spot in Gainesville during their freshman year at University of Florida. She poked fun at his all-meat calzone and after running into one another a few times on campus they became fast friends. Rex loves her sassy ways, how she can make him laugh and her big heart.
Rex was a total gentleman and asked permission to marry Cayla from her parents and oldest brother. He then planned a birthday celebration at a beachside pavilion and included her whole family. They ate dinner and then went for a sunset walk on the beach where he popped the question and gifted her with her late grandmother's diamond ring. According to Cayla, "I was so happy I couldn't stop crying, but once I got ahold of myself I realized our family had been looking on and was waiting to celebrate with us."
“Rex is sweet, selfless and smart. I love that he is unwavering in his support of me and my family, that we challenge each other to be better people, and that he knows me inside and out.”
The two enjoy just being together; they spend time watching movies and soccer, cooking, and going for walks outdoors and on the beach. Their wedding will be a celebration with those that mean the most to them and they're just so excited to finally make it all official!
