My creative spirit loves to embellish. I greatly enjoy adding my personal touch to things I’ve bought… and today I’m doing just that with a few of the gorgeous new wedding invitation designs from Minted . Honestly all their invitations are perfectly lovely just as they are, but of course I like to play! Sometimes all you need is a tiny little addition to bring an item to life. While perusing their Spring/Summer 2015 additions, I was instantly attracted to these three designs and immediately my creativity went into overdrive. Embellishing invitations can be as simple as adding a bow or little dash of glitter or as intense as matting them on burlap; whatever it is you choose to add will undoubtable make your guests smile!
When choosing to embellish store-bought invitations I have a few tips for you:
- Pick a simple invitation design to start
- Take design element cues from your wedding theme
- Embellish in an assembly line; doing the same task on multiples at one time
- Be aware of your time frame; don’t over do it
- Always double check postage; adding elements adds weight
- Enlist help; tempt your bridesmaids with wine and dessert!
Flora Grande Wedding Invitation
You’ll need:
- Flora Grande Wedding Invitations
- Your choice of black, dark gray or silver glitter
- Glittering glue
How-To:
Using the glittering glue bottle tip or wand, add small or large swipes of glue to the flower design. While the glue is still wet, shake on your glitter color of choice. For this design black, dark gray or silver glitter would look best. After it’s dry you can gently tap or wipe away the excess glitter (over a piece of paper to catch and save) and you’ll have the perfect, custom invite for the sparkly bride!
Gilt Agate Wedding Invitation
You’ll need:
- Gilt Agate Wedding Invitations
- Gold and Light Gold Leafing Pens
How-To:
To add an extra, stunning shimmer that lends perfectly with this design – trace a few of the gold lines with gold leafing pens! Using two different shades will increase the beauty of this embellishment. This super quick and simple addition will add an amazing (and cheap!) element to the design. Perfect for the boho-chic bride!
