This gorgeous Spanish wedding has us wishing every wedding could be a destination wedding! Katie and Simon said “I do” at the Hotel La Malcontenta in Palamós, Spain, and Natan Fotografia captured every minute of this fun and lively celebration! To incorporate Spanish tradition into the ceremony, the couple had a Spanish guitar duo play the processional and recessional songs, and they added a personal twist at the reception by giving lavender and almond shortbread biscuits to their guests as wedding favors.
The Couple:
Katie and Simon
The Wedding:
Hotel La Malcontenta , Palamós, Spain
We first visited Hotel La Malcontenta for lunch in 2008 with Simon’s parents. Simon’s father made a offhand comment about how it would be a wonderful place for a wedding, and from that moment it was always going to be my first choice. When we got engaged six years later, it was top of our list, and we were over the moon to find out we could marry there.
Processional: Sea of Love – Cat Power
Recessional: Happy – Pharrell
First Dance: You’re All I Need To Get By – Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrell
If you are planing a wedding abroad I would recommend a wedding planner. Our wedding planner, Angela was worth her weight in gold. She took the stress out of planning a wedding and made it an enjoyable experience.
Simon’s family has a tradition where they perform a song at family weddings. We were lucky enough to be the recipients of a personalized medley of songs about us, which was both touching and hilarious to us and our guests!
