Brussels-based producer Thomas Vaquié has figured out a rather interesting way of representing the experimental soundscapes of his new album, Ecume. He’s visualized the album’s sound waves, and literally printed them on concrete on the cover art.
The Vinyl Factory drew our attention to this rather amazing limited-edition vinyl, which saw the AntiVJ record label recruiting the services of Swiss artist Thomas Vaquié . The waveforms were 3D-printed, and then a silicone mould was made to allow for the creation of the concrete cast that makes up the artwork.
The approach was inspired by the music itself, with the album described as “a response to place and space, to light and architecture, to code and motion.”
