Hungarian duo Myon & Shane 54 started off as successful trance upstarts nearly a decade ago, with a prolific flow of early releases on labels like Anjunabeats and Armada , as well as a reputation for delivering effective mashups.
However, they’ve enjoyed impressive crossover success the past few years in particular, remixing mainstage heavies like Kaskade , as well as stars from the pop realm like Jessie J and Lana Del Ray . In spite of this, they’ve just announced they’re calling time.
“To our loyal fans and supporters, after almost a decade of Myon and Shane 54 working as a team, we’ve decided to take some time to explore our own individual paths,” the duo announced via a Facebook post . “The book isn’t closed on MS54. This is just a new chapter. We hope to count on your continued love and encouragement for our adventures ahead.”
Back in 2012 when Myon & Shane 54 ranked #80 in the DJ Mag Top 100 , they spoke of how happy they were with how their profile was developing in the US: “There's never been a better time to be a DJ or dance music producer… Our Andain remix became a major radio hit in the US, where we played a lot this year. We now have more fans there than in the rest of the world combined."
