We love totems; we love them so much that everyone from the editorial department to our photographers are constantly on the lookout for them at festivals. So, you can imagine the excitement we felt when we came across this beast, dubbed “Sol Crusher.”

Rumored to be making its first public appearance at EDC LV, this intensely vibrant LED orb was handcrafted from 180 individual triangular circuit boards. The 15" sphere was inspired by the shape of a geodesic dome and took six months to conceptualize and build. Packed with 540 LED lights that flicker, flash and glow in several assignable configurations, this incredible totem pumps out 150 watts of LED power. In other words, it’s really f-ing bright.
The mastermind behind this project is someone known on Reddit only as “Burgerga.” According to the thread, the Sol Crusher will be somewhere in the neighborhood of kineticFIELD on Friday for Alesso’s set at midnight. Be on the lookout for this one.
