Mexican Destination Wedding at Villa Violeta

Mexican Destination Wedding at Villa Violeta

Timeless, elegant, and effortless are just a few words we’d use to describe Beatrice and Nam’s Mexican destination wedding at Villa Violeta . Beatrice’s Audrey Hepburn-inspired bridal style and a gray and pastel color palette only enhanced the natural beauty of the seaside venue. As beautiful as the wedding celebration was aesthetically, what we can’t take our eyes off of are the genuine smiles and joy shared between Beatrice and Nam on their big day, captured so brilliantly by Button Up Photography .

Audrey Hepburn was my style inspiration. I wanted to look romantic and timeless. My wedding dress was the perfect look for a beachside wedding. It was extremely humid but the dress was light and elegant. I knew if I were to look at the picture of my dress 20 years from now it would still look timeless and instead of dated and trendy. It also helped that I chose the dress with my mom and sisters who all have very different styles, but all agreed unanimously that the dress was for me! The only request we had for the wedding party was to wear light colors.

Seeing each other for the first time during the ceremony was a special moment for the both of us. We felt an incredible rush of emotions thinking of the day as just the beginning of the rest of our lives together.

We wanted to have a relaxed and intimate vibe at our wedding. After deciding on the venue in Mexico, we wanted to the keep the spirit and ambiance of Mexico from the food we ate to the as the backdrop of our wedding. We created a relaxed atmosphere where everyone could go about the day freely to surf, swim, lay out on the beach, or read a book on the deck. We came together throughout the day to share meals and connect with one another.

One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was picking Hideki as our photographer! We wanted a photographer with an aesthetic similar to ours and could capture the moment creatively. He was such a profession and made us all feel so comfortable in front of the camera. It felt like we had a good friend of ours photograph the wedding. The photos turned out exactly like we had in mind, authentic and candid instead of posed.

The Sunset Ceremony In This Aleenta Resort Wedding Is What Dreams Are Made Of

The Sunset Ceremony In This Aleenta Resort Wedding Is What Dreams Are Made Of

There are few things we love more than a golden hour wedding ceremony, so this sunset beach ceremony blew us away! Jade and Joe tied the knot at the Aleenta Resort in front of all their family and friends, then wrapped up the festivities with a spectacular party, amazing food, and a stunning lantern release at the end of the night. Jade wore a dramatic floor-length lace gown from Grace Loves Lace for the ceremony, then changed into the cutest short dress for an effortlessly beachy reception look! Studiokel Photography captured every detail of this sunset wedding with gorgeous emotion and light.

We wanted something rather chill & laid back, yet chic & comfortable, hence the ceremony on the beach. After visiting several venues, Aleenta‘s “villa-to-lawn-to-beach” layout was perfect for what we wanted to achieve. I chose a pretty neutral & sweet colour theme, as we didn’t want anything too over the top.

One of my favourite moments is the ceremony bit with my dad at sunset. It was a very emotional moment for us, I could feel his love & joy for me as we walked in to the instrumental version of Des’ree’s Kissing You .

My tips for other brides-to-be are: On your wedding day, relax, don’t forget to breathe, know that your bffs are all there for you and all there to help and have a great time. Take the time to soak it all in. Don’t get overly drunk and forget the night, like I did!

With months of preparation culminating in one big awesome celebration, we could hardly stop to take it all in with the barrage of merry making, speeches and performances. But when guests launched a sea of fire lanterns into the night sky and a sense of calm swept over the party as everyone paused, enthralled by the sight, it really allowed us a moment to soak in and savour that very moment of joy with all our loved ones around us.

Casual and Chic St. Pete Wedding at Postcard Inn

Casual and Chic St. Pete Wedding at Postcard Inn

There couldn’t have been a more perfect venue for Tina and Michael’s romantic beach wedding than Postcard Inn on St. Pete Beach in Florida. The relaxed atmosphere set a breezy and casual tone for the day, while giving Tina and Michael’s extraordinary team of both wedding professionals and loved ones the space to create a chic and beautiful wedding style. We are positively beside ourselves looking at the images Jonathan Connolly Photography captured of Tina in her custom Oscar de le Renta dress on her wedding day.

The Couple:

Tina and Michael

The Wedding:

Postcard Inn , St. Pete Beach, Florida

The Inspiration:

St. Pete Beach is so beautiful, and the Postcard Inn has such a cool, relaxed and fun atmosphere so the location really was the inspiration for the overall theme. We kept the decor pretty simple, because when the setting is so gorgeous you don’t need much else. Most of our guests were traveling from New York and New England so it was really important to us that they were able to really enjoy themselves and dance the night away to awesome music.

Wedding day fashion – I work for Oscar de la Renta as the Director of Fabric Research and Development. When I found this incredibly beautiful broderie anglaise silk organza, I thought, I want this to be my wedding dress! So our incredible design team (and dear friends) made me this amazing dress and veil. I am forever honored and grateful and will cherish it forever!

The Moments:

There are so many to choose from! All our guests made a weekend out of it so it was amazing to see people from all different parts of our lives forging bonds and friendships (and playing volleyball together).

Tina: After the last song played everyone ran down to the beach to light wish lanterns, it was completely magical to watch all of our favorite people working together to make the lanterns float away into the night. And then one of the most awesome moments happened which could not be captured on film, our friends going skinny dipping in the ocean!

Mike: Lots of amazing moments, hard to choose but crowd-surfing together with Tina to our last song “Shout” was truly rad, everyone was laying down on the floor and then erupted towards the end of the song. Was truly magical and will always remember that feeling of togetherness with all our guests.

The Couple Recommends:

Most of our wedding professionals were also friends and family. Our dear friend Matt Gosline designed our amazing save the date and invitation which all of our guests were raving about. My super talented sister did my hair, as well as my mom’s, my other sister and my niece’s hair. Kerrin Griffin is an old friend and a makeup wizard, she made sure I felt like the most beautiful version of myself. And our friends Meryll and Francois went above and beyond to create the most incredible music playlist not only for the wedding reception, but for the the ceremony and the welcome party the night before. Last but not least are Jonathan and Marie, our absolutely incredible photographers who now feel like friends.
