Last week, we reported that the legendary Minimoog Model D synthesizer is back in production, rolling off the line for the first time since 1981, after helping shape the sound of a huge range of influential music. As a reflection of the enduring popularity of the Minimoog, a UK design house has released a special poster depicting the inner workings of the iconic synthesizer.
Brought to our attention by DJ Mag , the Inside Information: Minimoog poster was designed by UK studio Dorothy, also responsible for the equally excellent Electric Love Blueprint .
The new poster “celebrates the cult of the Minimoog and the many musicians influenced by it,” imagining a miniature world of seminal musicians working away inside the synthesizer.
“Prior to the launch of the Minimoog in 1970 synthesisers were large, modular machines designed purely for use in the studio. The Minimoog was the world’s first portable (and affordable) synthesizer… The illustration features 28 cameos from some of the world’s greatest electronic music pioneers all beavering away doing their own ‘thing’.”
