Hear Darude’s Eternal Classic “Sandstorm” Performed by an Orchestra

First released on vinyl back in 1999 during one of nightclubbing’s first glorious peaks, Darude ’s “Sandstorm” got a rinsing like no other on the dancefloors, to the point where clubbers eventually grew sick to death of it. However, it turned out to be the track that just never really went away, taking on a cult status over the years that’s seen it re-emerge as a beloved dancefloor fave.

It was this exact cult status that saw it selected to be performed by an orchestra at the Ignite Symphonic Dance Anthems event in Sydney, Australia, which saw veteran DJ Dan Murphy leading the Sydney Youth Orchestra to recreate some of dance music’s everlasting classics.

As you can hear in the video below, shared by inthemix in Australia, as soon as those iconic “dun-dun-duns” ring out, the cheers immediately rise. Watch it now, and for something a little more recent from Darude his fourth album Moments is available on iTunes and Spotify .
