Remember Jody and Brian from their beautiful South Pointe Park engagement sesh ? We're back with them, this time in the Keys, for their beach glam wedding at the Hilton Key Largo Resort captured by Rubber Boots Photography .
The two love the Florida Keys, and the beach, so a wedding in our Floridian paradise just made perfect sense. The Keys were also the spot where Brian first told Jody he loved her.
The couple's Yorkie/Maltese mix, Bailey, happily made the trip with them.
They fell in love with the Hilton Key Largo Resort for its perfect mix of what they were looking for: a beautiful beach, without too many tourists, and a secluded, intimate feel. Says Jody, "We had just short of 130 people at our wedding and it felt like we were the only ones there even though there was another small wedding that same weekend and many other guests at the hotel. Plus we loved that once our guests arrived to check in for the weekend, they didn't leave until they were checking out on Sunday (or later)."
When I asked Jody what they loved about each other, she told me it was pretty much everything... and football, of course: "Our personalities complement each other so perfectly and in the 6 years we've been together its extremely hard to think of a single day that we've gone without making each other laugh. We definitely bring out the best in one another! Plus, it helps that in all of South Florida, we were both raised to be - and continue to be - huge Washington Redskins fans!"
The two aimed for simplicity for their day, mixing in some "timeless classy old-Hollywood glam" with metallic hues and a more formal look for their wedding party. They kept the focus in the reception on that gorgeous sunset view, with minimal centerpieces and simple touches.
Some of the bride's favorite moments centered around family, including her aunt Dale officiating their ceremony, and her grandmother, who sadly is no longer with them, walking down the aisle. Says Jody, "We had such an amazing time that day/night and all weekend at that, it's hard to choose favorites. It was so great to have all our families and close friends all together. Everything was so special and perfect we didn't want the night to end!"
