Playland at the PNE opens this Saturday! The Vancouver theme park is a classic part of summer in Vancouver. If you’re never been, then be sure to make Playland a part of your summer this year. In addition to 15+ rides, Playland includes carnival games, an arcade, a basketball court, a climbing wall, a shooting gallery, and more. Take a ride on Hell’s Gate, get soaked on the Flume water ride, win a stuffed animal at the Whac-A-Mole, and get your fill of mini donuts, all at Playland.
This year, Playland has a brand new ride, Rock-N-Cars. Rock-N-Cars is a new twist on the classic Bumper Cars ride. Driving and bumping your friends and families from every angle is all still part of the fun, but now riders can take their pick between new Formula 1 themed cars or speedy sports car-style cars. The new attraction features bumper cars protected by a rubber bumper which creates a bouncing experience upon impact. The great thing about Rock-N-Cars is that now even the little ones can strap in and partake in the fun. The new ride is now safe for riders 42” and up, though riders between 42” and 48” must be accompanied by an adult.
Spending a day at Playland is a must-do this summer. With the new Rock-N-Cars, and along with old favourites like the Hellavator, Wave Swinger, and of course, the Wooden Roller Coaster, there’s sure to be something for everyone.
