Hi friends! Earlier this week, I read the cutest story about how a couple in China who celebrated their 70th anniversary by reenacting their wedding day in the exact same place. Isn’t that just adorable? Of course, not everyone can recreate their entire wedding day, but there are some simple things you can do to keep those memories alive!
- Have a viewing party. Invite some close friends and family, whip out the popcorn and pop in that wedding video…even if you’ve already seen it! You’d be surprised how many couples have only seen their videos once or twice. It’s the best way to relive the day, so watch it on anniversaries, birthdays or, you know, a Tuesday.
- Recreate the menu. Remember all that amazing food from your reception? Probably not, because I bet you didn’t get a chance to eat any of it! Contact your caterer (or recreate the dishes at home) and sit down for a romantic date night at home with your partner and savor those yummy dishes.
- Decorate your home. Do you have leftover wedding décor or DIY projects stashed away in your garage? Use some of that to spruce up your home! It’s a great daily reminder of that special time.
- Make a photo album. If you didn’t procrastinate and already have a wedding photo album made—fantastic! How about making some other mini-albums or scrapbooks? Like an album of just couple portraits, family shots, or a book composed only of all the crazy dancing photos. You can even create an album of the wedding from your guests’ point of view, using all the photos posted on Instagram and Facebook. Oh, and while you’re on social, now’s the perfect time for a good #tbt!
- Look back at those wedding cards. You probably got tons of cards with your wedding gifts that you barely skimmed, right? Now that the mayhem is over, take the time to read all the kind words from your guests. The words of encouragement, love and advice will be sure to brighten up your day and take you back to that special event.
