Inspired by Carlos and Emmy's love of nature, Denice Lachapelle documented the couple's love for each other alongside the beautiful, breezy shores of the Oleta River . The soft, organic feel of film portrayed their outdoorsy spirits and sweetness towards each other to perfection.
Emmy and Carlos both grew up in South Florida, with many Keys weekends and family fishing trips having been part of their childhoods - they love being outdoors. When it came time to choose a location for their engagement session, Emmy remembered going mountain biking with her fam at Oleta River State Park, and they knew they'd found the perfect natural backdrop for their photos.
Carlos asked Emmy to be his girlfriend on 10/10/10, and because of that magic date, felt pressure to plan the perfect proposal when the time came four years later. He finally decided on what he thought would be perfect for Emmy; knowing how important family was to her, he brought both sides together for New Year's Eve, and popped the question at the end of the countdown. Emmy tells us, "I was so surprised I just hugged him. My sister had to remind me to give him an answer, which was, obviously, yes."
“My fiancé hides his softer side well. That's why I was blindsided by his detail-oriented nature — wanting to make everything as memorable for me as possible. ”
He sounds like a keeper, Emmy! Best wishes to you both as you head into a wedding day - and lifetime - of memorable moments.
