What do those three things have in common? They all factor into the March ’09 issue of Perceptive Travel . One of our contributors this month—Luke Armstrong—is making an appearance for the first time, with his tale of riding a breaking bike through a beautiful valley in Cuba.
The other two writers are returning, fresh off travel writing prize wins in the Solas Awards, sponsored by Travelers’ Tales Publishing . Darrin DuFord has a very different take on New Orleans, riding around with a SWAT team tasked with trying to keep giant canal rats in check. Chris Epting visits some of the subjects in his upcoming title The Birthplace Book: offbeat, often hard-to-find spots where something important happened. (Or in Captain Kirk’s case, will happen.) Laurence Mitchell reviews some cool world music releases and I review two books. Hint: one has three verbs with a common in between them, but this one definitely won’t become a ladies’ book club staple.
