We love every little thing that Andrea had to say about her wedding day! We’ll let her take it from here…
On the day of our wedding, an accident caused the Bay Bridge to close and many of the detailed plans I had been working on for the past year and a half had to be altered. Sean and I ended up having to have a “first look,” despite our original plan (and his preference) of seeing each other for the first time when I walked down the aisle. We pushed everything back 30 minutes, and then swapped around the timing of the ceremony and cocktail hour to allow our guests time to arrive.
All of that said, our day was even more unbelievable than I could have imagined! The later ceremony meant that we were able to get married at sunset, which is rare in the spring and looked absolutely spectacular. The “first look” was something I will treasure for the rest of my life. Seeing Sean for the first time amidst all of the commotion was emotional and amazing and the backdrop was absolutely stunning. Even more amazing was that our talented photographers, Liz & Ryan , were able to truly capture all of the emotion of that moment in the images.
Emotions aside, the bold purples we chose for our wedding colors looked fantastic against the soft backdrop of the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. One of my talented bridesmaids is a graphic designer, so all of the printed material for our wedding – from the invitations to the welcome letters, table numbers and ceremony programs – were all consistent and tied everything together wonderfully. Additionally, and especially due to our beautiful venue location, we kept the theme of “simple elegance” throughout the wedding. Our flowers pulled in our colors as well as the colors of the venue and the uplighting in the reception added an amazing level of sophistication and fun without detracting from the natural beauty of our surroundings!
