A nautical Shady Side wedding without any wedding vendors? Say it ain’t possible? Well, with the exception of Alison of Sugar Farm Productions – Josh and Becca’s gorgeous wedding was created entirely with the help of friends, family, and a lot of DIY projects! We absolutely love the creative vision that this couple shared in designing their special day!
“Josh and Becca, with the help of some friends designed the entire day beautifully. Becca and her gals created handmade bouquets out of fabric and accessories, josh created a logo for the couple and tied the entire theme of “flannel and lockets” together with a very hip nautical look. Everything from the table decorations to the food was made by Josh and Becca or a friend or family member. No vendors were involved!”
Continued: The ceremony took place on the point outside of the Cederhurt Community House in Shady Side, MD overlooking the water as a osprey flew around above the guests heads and boaters sailed past. It was a beautiful day-a hot day, but beautiful!
The reception was indoors in the Community House and was set up with long banquet style tables for all of their friends and family. A logo was adhered to the wall as well as tattered oars with Josh and Becca’s silhouettes on them. the color sceme reminded me of something out of an ice cream display: mint, peach and lavender. Guests were given a favor of either a tote bag or t-shirt which josh had hand screen printed with their logo on it. As beautiful as the reception was, the best part was the food and how it was served! Friends and family made the food (and the pies that made up the dessert table) and Josh and Becca donned custom aprons and served their guests the meal and joined them when everyone else had been seated. Talk about a great alternative to a receiving line!
Josh is an artist with Creative Paradox in Annapolis, Md and many of their friends that helped out are also part of this art collective!”
