Today’s sunny nautical wedding arrives fresh from the shores of the West Coast! Submitted by talented planner and designer, Aleah and Nick Valley of Valley & Co. – We were swept away by the inspiring details and sweet love this couple shared! We’ll let Aleah take it from here:
“Megan and Ian came to us wanting to bring Cape Cod to Southern California for their mostly-destination wedding all while showing off what beauty San Diego has to offer, with an upbeat and fun vibe. Classically nautical elements like Sperry Topsiders, striped grosgrain ribbon, dozens of handmade muslin flags mixed with a quintessential and regal SoCal venue made for an incredibly breathtaking setting for their sunny nuptials.”
Continued: “During the planning process the focus was rich with making the entire wedding an experience for all of the guests, most of which were traveling from the East Coast. Welcome bags greeted them, the menu was out-of-this-world {a beachside clam bake complete with dinner served in netted bags!}, a funky music fusion with a guitarist and a DJ, and the thoughtful atmosphere and flow of the day kept guests moving and laughing.
The creamy and ethereal centerpieces were studded with garden roses, hydrangea clouds and sprouting astilbe and were nestled in homemade weathered boxes from Grand Floral. The gents were dressed in charcoal suits accented with nautical rope boutonnieres that were also present in the take-home gifts {rope-adorned frames that guests slid their vintage ferry tickets into}.
Our blushing bride and dapper groom were decked out in stunning confections that reflected their totally classic style. Megan was so radiant in her dazzling frock from Kleindfeldt’s and walked down the aisle barefoot, in true SoCal fashion. As the sun went down, our paper luminaries and lanterns all aglow, guests shimmied under Italian globe lights that cast the perfect romantic silhouette against the iconic Hotel Del with the waves crashing nearby.”
