For most of our “Real Wedding” segments we go into detail about what the bride and groom wore, what color shoes she had on, where her veil was made… but not this time! This one is all about detail… fabulous, atmospheric detail! Everything about Susannah and Michael’s wedding, photographed by Jacquelyn Poussot , is beautiful. Being the first ceremony to take place in the new area of The Foundry , Susannah and Michael used its elegant interior and only enhanced it with simple touches. A color palette of ivory and navy kept this wedding simple and casual {but oh-so-chic}! Susannah wore a sleek and modern dress in a warm ivory and Michael sported a classic tuxedo that fit him perfectly!
Susannah and Michael got engaged over a good bottle of wine. Nothing more, nothing less – and let’s face it, a good bottle of wine can make an evening perfect! Their elegant and classy style poured through their wedding day and they made it look easy!
The Foundry is a beautiful venue all on its own, with gorgeous brick walls, an open and well lit ceiling and enough room to dance the night away! But with the addition of strung-up light bulbs, it becomes a little more dramatic, without trying to hard. The lights give the space a simple, yet sophisticated glow…and who could forget those candles!
The combination of modern and clean lines from the warehouse-like ceiling and silver chairs, combined with the natural elements of The Foundry – the fountains, ivy-clad brick walls, and green touches – make it exceptionally chic without being over the top. The simple candlelit altar is a beautiful and different way to create an area where you can say your vows {and have amazing pictures taken}!
Candles behind the altar, candles lining the aisle, candles surrounding the entire space – and yet the feel of “too many candles” never comes across. The soft lighting works perfectly to mirror the lighting coming from the skylights in the ceiling.
We love the soft, elegant feel of this wedding decor. The crisp white linens and curtains absorb the beautiful lighting {from bulbs, candles and natural light} and create a wonderful glow to The Foundry . Not to mention, the clean and fresh looking bouquets on each table, bringing a natural element to the whole space.
The cake was decorated with a clean design and topped with “awesome wooden dolls,” said Michael. Cake toppers are a great and fun way to make your cake a little more personal and “you”! It can be funny, sweet, elegant, and fabulous all at the the same time {which this cake certainly is!}.
Some details aren’t fully planned out but a beautiful sunset can be a great decor element sent straight from mother nature!
