Today’s DIY turns cheap glass votives into a glimmering gold piece of art for your wedding reception! We absolutely love gold votives, but for a bride on a budget – settling for plain glass might not be the most appealing option!
With a little paint, a few hands on deck, and an afternoon of crafting – A bride and her maids could easily paint dozens of these little beauties for use on tables and within the decor! We love how realistic and simple this DIY is… Achievable for a real Bayside Bride!
Enjoy & Happy Crafting!
Supplies:
– Clear Glass Votives
– Metallic Gold Paint
– Paint Brush
Steps:
1) Begin by painting faint layers of gold (or silver) metallic paint around the outside bottom of the glass.
2) Using very thin, faint strokes – apply the paint in several layers unevenly lined around the glass.
3) Allow votives to dry for several hours before touching the painted portion.
These votives are absolutely gorgeous at night – glowing and glistening, each in a slightly unique fashion! We especially love the uneven edges of the votives that create a more hand-painted feel. Easy to create and the perfect way to jazz up traditional votives!
