Track of the Day: ONNO Brings Raw Warehouse Mentality on “Freak Now”

It’s getting increasingly more difficult to take our eyes off ONNO, the Dutch producer who has been sending out cuts most people are starting to toss under the gangsta techno category. People in high places seem to be feeling it, too, seeing as imprints like VIVa, Moon Harbour, and Saved have picked up what the guy has been throwing down. His latest offering goes to a label that has had his back since forever, Upon. You, who are glad to see him return with a smashing two-tracker by the name of Elevate.

The lead cut has already gotten the thumbs up from a number of industry heavyweights, but we’re more concerned with the cut living on the other side. “Freak Now” has been built to withstand the wear-and-tear from many warehouse plays, with a raw and off-centered energy that leaves a monster impression. Having a hefty rhythmic layout, twisty synth lines and trippy vocal manipulations, expect this weird number to do major work at the next after-hours spot you hit up.

Available now via Upon.You.
