For Spring 2014, Arc'teryx is taking all their technical knowledge gained from years of making high quality alpine apparel and applying it to a new line of commuter gear. The new A2B collection is filled with apparel that is completely functional yet has urban style, built for those people who want to use their bike as a mode of transport but don't want to change clothes once they leave or arrive at their destination.
The A2B Commuter Pant (Capri and Long for women) uses a 60/40 cotton polyester blend fabric with a Schoeller 3XDry treatment, making them highly water and stain resistant. The waist is higher in the back and lower in the front for comfort on the bike. Articulated knees make for easy riding, while the bottom cuff rolls up to reveal reflective strips and snaps to keep your pant leg out of the chain stay. For those hot summer days, women have the option of riding in the Skort instead.
The high collared A2B Commuter softshell jacket offers supreme wind and water resistance, with reflectivity features that simply tuck away when you don't need them. An offset zipper ensures the collar does not get in your way as you ride.
The commuter line will include a variety of temperature regulating, extra long, wool blend tops for tucking in or providing extra coverage when riding. Women can choose between the A2B Tank or Cozy (basically a turtle neck with mittens built in to the sleeves), while the men have the option of a collared cotton short sleeve city shirt or wool blend crew and polo. The commuter collection includes an A2B Fleece for both men and women, as well.
Don't forget the commuter bags. New for Spring 2014 are two messenger bags, the Lunara 10 and Lunara 17, along with a variety of Carrier Duffels. Using a thin, pliable textile with fully taped and sealed seams, these bags are waterproof even in the worst conditions.
