Track of the Day: Anobis22 Push-Starts New Project With Glistening Groove “Hatchback”

In its earliest days, Immigrant Records called California its home, where it brought the ideas of brilliant artists to light in the ‘90s. True to its name, the imprint crossed borders and boundaries to bring forth artists from the likes of John Tejada, Maetrik, John Dahlbäck, and its founder, Robin Porter. They even went as far as to take their own name literally, migrating over to Robin’s hometown in Manchester. The address of their headquarters may have changed, but the quality has never wavered.

Making his way back onto their catalog is Ralph Sliwinski—only this time, he brought along Bjoern Mulik for the ride. Kicking off their new Anobis22 project with a stellar three-track debut called Day by Day, the EP glistens with grooves of the greatest degree. “Hatchback” is going to be the highlight for heads that have a hankering for house with a whole lotta substance and soul. Purposeful drums push things along nicely and are then swiftly joined by intermittent keys, pulsating basslines, cricketing synths, and subtle intricacies that feed into the duo’s true dynamic.

Available September 26 via Immigrant Records.
