“Shea + Joseph’s wedding was one I was so excited for all year long! They had an intimate outdoor October wedding at an incredible lake house in Gallatin, TN right down from the home of the late great Johnny Cash. I knew their wedding would have the look and style that wedding photographers dream about! Classic, clean and creative. That, along with the outpouring love these two have for each other {+ their pup, Knox!}, made for a perfect day and even better pictures! There was a light drizzle throughout the day, but it didn’t put a damper on a single thing. Every detail, big and small, was purposeful and beautiful. Smiles and laughter were seen and heard as their family and friends shared in their love. Rain or not, I wouldn’t have changed a thing about that day, and I am looking forward to capturing their love for years to come.” – Shots by Cheyenne
What is your favorite wedding day memory?
It is so hard to choose just one! I loved how the whole day felt like us. From hanging out and laughing with everyone before the wedding to our first touch in the rain, we made every moment fun! Saying our vows in front of everyone was surreal and such a memorable moment. Lastly, I loved our first dance on that twinkle lit dance floor, thinking it was finally happening and everything turned out perfect…rain and all!
What did you DIY for your wedding?
For our wedding we did quite a bit of DIY to make our backyard, twinkle-lit wedding come to life! We collected, cleaned and spray painted all of the bottles, vases and glassware for our decor and centerpieces. We DIY’d our lovely pumpkin guest book and HoneyFund from Jen’s Something Turquoise DIY’s. Jen also helped with our DIY efforts and DIY’d our family chair tags for the ceremony and created our gorgeous aisle sign!
Something old, new, borrowed and blue?
I actually didn’t follow this tradition! I didn’t have anything old, borrowed or blue, but my something new was my dress!
Any advice for brides currently in the planning process?
Soak every moment in! Enjoy being engaged and the planning process with your fiancé having fun dreaming your ideas up and then working to find and create them! Then, really focus on what’s important to you both and make the day truly about you. Lastly, as many times as you have and will continue to hear it, it’s true, the day flies! Give yourself enough time to enjoy getting ready with the girls, drink champagne and remember, at the end of the day, you’re married to your favorite person! -Shea, the bride
