We all look forward to the summer sun but sometimes it can just be too much. The Sundial Shade Shelter from Easton is designed to give you a bit of respite, whether it be around camp, at your local crag, out fishing, serving as a backyard dog shelter, having a picnic, or even hanging out at an outdoor festival.
Lightweight and super packable, the Sundial is portable enough to provide you with some welcome shade almost anywhere. This versatile shelter sets up in minutes, and can be oriented either for a sitting or standing position. The standing position is great for use at those climbing crags where you are belaying in the sun for pretty much most of the day. The aluminum poles and hooks are color coded to help with setup-it's pretty intuitive but you might want to practice the different configurations before you head out somewhere.
The shade shelter is freestanding, so you can move it around as you or the sun shift position throughout the day. You will definitely want to be sure to anchor the Sundial down using the aluminum stakes in the various double stitched anchor points, as the shade shelter has a tendency to blow away even in a light wind.
Made from waterproof 75D Ripstop Poly, the Sundial will protect you from a light rain, something that comes in handy for cooking meals in less than optimal weather around basecamp.
The Easton Sundial Shade Shelter comes in two different sizes. The S version weighs 2 lb with a 25.9 sq ft footprint and 42 in – 84 in head height, fitting from 1-3 people. The M version weighs 4 lb 8 oz. with a 35 sq ft footprint and 57 in – 84 in head height, fitting up to 6 people.
The Easton Sundial retails for $99-$149 and is available now.
